Water+Color+Techniques

Painting as a medium comes in a wide variety of forms, each one consisting of its own inherent techniques. For children, watercolor and acrylic are primarily used due to the chemical compounds of oil paints.

There are plenty of fun techniques to teach using watercolors to get the desired result. Some, children find fascinating, involve blowing, dabbing, and even combining other solvents and seeing what happens with the chemical reaction with water!

How to manipulate and hold the brush is a primary tool in learning how to paint with acrylic paint. The variety of brushes creating differing results, as well as color theory and mixing, also encompass a painting curriculum.
