The beauty of art is unlike other creative platforms like drama , music, or dance. It can be created almost out of anything instead of one modality used for expression. With the diversity in materials and how they are used, the possibilities are endless. In my teaching, I like to find unusual ways to present a project and inspire creative exploration.

Using a wide variety of materials and how to manipulate them to create an art piece helps build dexterity and fine motor skills. It widens the possibilities of what art can be and the limits of form and function. Using materials like ones you can find around the house, recyclables, or items made out of wood, create art that can open, roll, move, spin and be played with instead of only viewed.
