Are you looking to bring the arts into your children’s lives? Are you looking for your child to learn an instrument or have an outlet to express creativity? Then look no further. My name is Miss Hilary and I offer both. I believe both music and art enrich children’s lives in ways that are paramount to creating a well-rounded individual.
The visual arts help motor skills and spatial skills, helps teach that with diligence and practice we can learn a new skill set and widen our capabilities. Learning art provides a way to translate social, cultural and environmental practices, values and concerns into a visual representation. It provides an understanding of other cultures and time periods and helps build problem solving skills. Visual arts allow for creative expression, the freedom to explore, imagine and better perceive ourselves and the world around us.
I believe learning a musical instrument, especially learning the piano, has many benefits backed by science. It not only improves reading comprehension and math skills, but I’ve also seen, personally working with my students, the increase in discipline, patience, perseverence and self esteem.
